The fourth ‘International Sustainable Buildings Symposium’ took place on 18-20 July 2019 in Dallas, Texas (USA) by Ankara University – Gazi University – Texas Tech University – Texas A&M Commerce University consortium and with the collaboration of American Institute of Architects (AIA) and US Green Building Council (USGBC).
Over 150 participants from 20 countries attended this year’s ISBS event. The attendee profile includes national and international academia, company representatives, local and central public management executives, consultants/advisors and members of the press.
The ISBS 2019 Sustainability Award – Best Sustainable Practices Competition was held for the first time this year. The jury panel of the competition consisted of building and urban experts from Texas Tech, Texas A&M, AIA, USGBC, Ankara University and Gazi University.
Kartal Dr. Lutfi Kirdar Training and Research Hospital was awarded the ‘Best Sustainable Healthcare Building’ within the ISBS 2019 Best Sustainable Practices Competition. Designed by NKY Architects & Engineers, Kartal Hospital is Istanbul’s first seismic base isolated public hospital with 1.000 beds.
