Necdet K. Yazici
He studied as a researcher in construction sciences at the Department of Architecture in the Blacksea Technical University (KTU). He graduated from KTU in 1975 as a Master Architect Engineer. Soon after he established the NKY business in 1980 and began to work on large scale projects across various sectors including: housing, sport, education, shopping, business, accommodation and health.
At the same time as building the NKY business he continued with his passion for education by supporting the architectural project studies at KTU. Entering various competitions for his work, he accomplished further success winning many awards including the European Property Awards. As he continued to build his name and the NKY brand in the industry he became famous for his work. He is often invited as a speaker to academic conferences, international architectural meetings and conferences.
His projects are published in a number of architectural magazines and newspapers.In his career he has acquired extensive experience in designing major public work.Particular specialties have included: health campuses, education campuses, universities and sport complexes. He is also well known for his area of expertise including scientific, technological and research laboratories. To this day he continues his international studies as a professional architect for NKY.
Birhan Emre Yazici
He graduated from the Industrial Engineering Department of the Atilim University in 2006. During his university years he learnt the fundamentals of NKY by working on administrative and financial areas of the business. His curiosity and ability to rapidly understand the company led him to move focus onto the national and international development plans for the business. Through this early success he was appointed CEO of NKY after graduating from university.
His expertise includes knowledge of Public Private Partnership investments and multi billion dollar projects. As well as an experienced leader and project manager for the company, he is also well known for his specialist medical, military and transportation projects.
His core values are protecting the diminishing resources of the planet by using all of the solutions available and pioneering new innovations to maximise environmental sustainability. He is very focused on design aesthetics and believes that good design impacts on the way we live and enjoy life. This belief is a key driver for him within NKY, he strives to push boundaries and change people’s perceptions of design possibilities.
Through these principles and with his experience in consultancy and project management he has grown the NKY brand throughout Turkey and internationally. He has accomplished joint venture projects with companies from Japan, Italy, USA and he has set up offices in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia where there are major government projects ongoing. More recently he has launched a new centre of excellence in Dubai, U.A.E which is inline with his ambition to grow the business making NKY the leading design and engineering company across the globe.
General Coordinator, Architect
Omer Unlu graduated from the Department of Architecture at the Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey in 2004. After completing his Master’s Degree, he joined NKY in 2007. He took part in the concept design and feasibility studies for the initial Health Campuses with PPP model, and participated in the medical planning processes. He has been invited as a speaker/presenter to many conferences and seminars regarding healthcare design and Public Private Partnership. He contributed to the Minimum Design Requirements in Health Buildings Guideline of the Ministry of Health in 2010. He worked as a consultant for Ministry of Health in initial PPP investments like Kayseri, Etlik, Adana; and worked as the designer for other large Health Campuses like Bilkent, Mersin and Gaziantep. His expertise includes design research, feasibility studies, medical and functional planning of healthcare facilities. Omer Unlu was recently awarded PMP (Project Management Professional) certification; which has led him to become more focused on project and construction management elements of the business. He is still working as the General Coordinator of NKY.
Overseas Director, Industrial Engineer, PMP
Tolga Sahin graduated from Industrial Engineer at Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey. He attended economy and management courses in London Business School and then he joined NKY Architects & Engineers. Tolga took part in large-scale projects in many countries with multinational teams. As the Overseas Director, he manages Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Dubai offices as well as partnerships in Iraq, Kingdom of Bahrain, Bangladesh ... As a PMP engineer, Tolga has deep knowledge about project management, contract management and risk management. He is in charge to establish new branches and start-ups in foreign countries to enter new markets.
Business Development Manager, Mechanical Engineer, Lawyer, M.Sc.
Ihsan Soydan graduated in 1983 from Hannover University/Germany as a mechanical engineer with a Master of Engineering degree. He also attended the MBA program at METU. Afterwards, he became a licensed lawyer upon the completion of his studies in the faculty of law at Ankara University. He later attended the LLM program at the School of Law of Southern Methodist University in the USA. Ihsan joined the construction field in 1985 as an engineer and was later involved in business development and mergers and acquisitions. He is a highly accomplished visionary executive with domestic and international experience (in 36 different countries) in business development, project development, tenders, project management, and operations. Ihsan has also worked closely with the board and P&L management and has experienced a change in management and growth firms, has managed rapid growth firms, and has proven track record in improving business development and sales and profit. In addition, he has overhauled ineffective systems, designed efficient project management systems, used strategic thinking, and implemented problem-solving schemes. He is in charge of business development locally and internationally.
Osman Güneş Erden
Design Director, Architect
Gunes Erden graduated from KTU Faculty of Architecture in 2004. Along with completing his undergraduate studies, he participated in many national and international architectural project competitions. He was awarded many national and international architectural awards, including first place in these competitions. During his professional life, he worked as project designer, project manager. These projects include large-scale projects such as tourism, healthcare, public affairs, education, office buildings, residential buildings, religious facilities, social facilities, sports facilities and urban design projects. At the same time, he directed all phases of the projects. He has been working as a Design Director at NKY Architecture for his professional life.
Salaheldin Salem Shnaiwra
Project Director, Architect, M.Sc., PMP
Salaheldin Salem Shnaiwra graduated from Architecture Department of Northern Cyprus University and completed in his master’s degree in Middle East Technical University in 1997. He is a reliable Senior Project Manager, and is a certified PMP (Project Management Professional). He is an expert in the overall management of construction projects with 17 years of experience in construction projects in KSA. He has strong management skills with high communication skills with stakeholders with the ability to enhance teamwork and lead and manage the project team. He ensures the proper implementation of all project management process, knowledge areas, tools and techniques as well as proper reporting system management he will help in creating an affective plan for executing the project. He is keen on following up project performance in terms of schedule, cost, scope, and quality using Earned Value Management, and make sure that it is up to the contract requirements and standards. He is currently working as Project Director of KAP2 in Saudi Arabia.
Cemil Ali Marandi
Project Control Manager, Civil Engineer, PMP
Cemil Ali Marandi graduated from Civil Engineering at Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey in1990. He is a reliable Senior Project Manager and Management Consulting Professional Specialist, an expert in the overall management of construction projects with knowledge of Lean Six Sigma for Service, ITIL, PMBOK and PRINCE2. He is a certified PM P (Project Management Professional. He is working as Project Control Manager in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia office. He establishes an effective Project Controls Execution Plan and guide the setup of a WBS and Reporting systems. He regularly analyzes and forecast the project cost, planning, performance and progress data, raise issues and advice corrective action. He creates planning documents including implementation plans, program execution plans, strategy mapping, change management plans and organizational performance assessments and identify strengths and weakness of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. ). He leads and coaches the lead planners and cost engineers, trains if needed.
Construction Manager, Architect
Mustafa Turan graduated from Architectural Engineering at Istanbul State and Art Academy in Istanbul, Turkey in 1975. He has 42 years of experience, obtained by working in projects of different nature that covered a wide range of building construction and infrastructure facilities. He managed many large-scale projects in the field of construction, consultancy and management in Russia, CIS Countries, Afghanistan and Gulf Area. His experience also covers architectural design of superstructures knowledge of ASTM and FIDIC procedures. He is detail oriented, efficient and organized professional with extensive experience, being a self-motivated good team player with excellent communication skills. He is managing the site supervision teams of 44 sites in all over the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a Construction Manager.
Quality Control Manager, Civil Engineer
Mr. Sahin graduated in 1999 from the Civil Engineering Department of Yildiz Technical University in Istanbul, Turkey. After graduation from the university, he started working in the construction projects from a variety of types such as residential complex, oil & gas pipelines, refinery projects, waste water treatment plants, large exhibition facilities / convention centers, building project for the university, railway terminal, airport hangars, highways / ring roads and building security facilities. He has been working in the QA/QC Management positions in various projects for the most reputable major Turkish and International companies, adding values and successfully managing the quality sections in the projects since 2005. In the course of time, he became specialized in Quality and HSE fields and he spent his endeavor for a long time for self-learning and knowledge growth in construction and project management field, use the trainings which are provided by the employers and as well as attending the trainings from the REPs and organizations such as ASQ, PMI, CSWIP, IRCA, SGI, BSI and others. He works as QA/QC Manager is Saudi Arabia office.
Contract Manager, Civil Engineer, M.Sc.
Sadettin Sezer graduated from Civil Engineering at Middle East Technical University in 1975. He has master degrees in Construction Management and Construction Law & Practice from University of Salford, UK. He has a Certificate in Construction Contract Law & Administration from Liverpool John Moores University, UK. Also he attended FIDIC Module 1 Course, FIDIC Module 4 Course and Certificate of Construction Claims Course. He has wide experience in construction industry for 38 years specialized especially in control services, design management, contract management, business development and other fields of civil engineering. He has worked as project manager, construction manager and contract manager for long years. He managed many large scale projects in Kazakhstan, Romania, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Russia and Turkey with the in-depth knowledge of local and international standards, norms and building code practices. His international project management and contract management experiences are valuable for our consultancy team. He is well experienced in FIDIC norms particularly Green and Red Book.
Structural Coordinator, Civil Engineer, Ph.D.
Yılmaz Yuva graduated from Civil Engineering at Yıldız Technical University in Istanbul, Turkey in 1985 and completed his master degree in Civil Engineering at Boğaziçi University in 1989. Also he has Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering from Boğaziçi University. He worked for a number of consulting and contracting firms and was primarily engaged with the design of diverse structures including RC structures, steel structures, airport terminal structures, heavy industrial structures, highway and railway structures, retaining structures. He has wide experience in national and international codes including Turkish Codes, Eurocodes, ACI, AISC, ASCE, AISI, UBC 97, IBC, AASHTO codes and FEMA model codes. He possesses strong analytical and problem solving skills and resourceful in the completion of projects, effective at multi-tasking.
Büşra Ergün Şahin
Health Systems Engineer, Ph.D.
Büşra Ergün Şahin graduated from Industrial Engineering, Bilkent University in 2010. She completed her master studies in Health Systems at Georgia Institute of Technology, USA in 2011. She worked at Emory Healthcare during her master studies. She gained experience in healthcare operations management, lean healthcare, six sigma, healthcare quality control management and simulation. She joined NKY in 2012 as Health Systems Engineer. She works on consultancy of health campus projects. She is about to complete her Ph.D. studies in Healthcare Operations Management at Graduate School of Business, Koc University in 2018.
Technical Office Manager, Environmental Engineer
Hiba Tiro graduated from Environmental Engineering at Damascus University University in Damascus, Syria in1995. She has masters degree in Project Management from LIU. She has more than twenty years’ experience in many large-scale projects in the field of design, consultancy and engineering management in the Middle East countries. She gained wide experience in the international / local Standards and Codes and she was nominated to work with SASO (Saudi Arabia Standard Organization) as technical consultant in 2015. She attended many training courses like: PMP, ERM (Enterprise Risk Management), Value Engineering Studies, QMS (Quality Management System) and she is certified instructor in a number of curricula, especially in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), ESRI and in remote sensing ERDAS. She is detailed oriented, efficient and organized professional with extensive experience, being a self-motivated good team player with excellent communication skills. She received many awards and certificate and has 5 published publications in some international She is currently working as Technical Office Manager of KAP2 in Saudi Arabia.
Electrical Engineer, Electrical Engineering Coordinator
Aytekin Akosmanoglu graduated from Electrical Faculty of Ankara State Engineering and Architecture Academy in 1979. He worked at Turkish Armed Forces as quality control department chief, project and production control department chief, technical manager and project manager from 1979 to 1998. He worked at different construction and consultancy firms in engineering, consultancy, design and implementation projects as project manager. He also provided services to form and sustain the quality management systems. He continues his professional life at NKY as Electrical Engineering Coordinator. He is married and had one daughter.
Architect, Architecture Coordinator
Mesut Ozkum graduated from Architecture Faculty of Ankara State Engineering and Architecture Academy in 1981. He worked at a design office under Bilkent Holding with an experienced team in universities and hospitals. He worked for projects belonging to Hacettepe and Selcuk Universities. In the forthcoming years, he worked under the same group as project manager and site manager for healthcare and university facilities belonging to Bilkent University and Hacettepe University as well as for the projects of Ministry of Finance. He worked at an experienced consultancy firm as architecture coordinator of supervision and consultancy services for Polatli, Haymana, Suşehri, Fethiye and Milas State Hospitals that are constructed under First Healthcare Project and credited by World Bank. Currently, he works as Architecture Coordinator under consultancy team of NKY.
Mechanical Engineer, Mechanical Engineering Coordinator
Nurullah Erdem graduated from Mechanical Engineering Department of Hitit University in 2010. After his graduation, he worked at different projects in mechanical installation design and supervision. Currently, he works as Mechanical Engineering Coordinator at NKY. He manages supervision of mechanical engineering design of healthcare facilities. He conducted feasibility studies and analysis on renewable energy systems of healthcare facilities.
Civil Engineer, M.Sc., Structural Engineering Coordinator
Rafet Saglam graduated from Civil Engineering department of Karadeniz Technical University in 1972. He worked as structural office chief and then as public works and settlement director at Ministry of Public Works and Settlement from 1973 to 1996. He continued his professional life at private sector as structural design engineer, chief site engineer and structural engineer after 1996. He works as Structural Coordinator for structural design supervision, geotechnical engineering and building design with isolators in consultancy and supervision projects of health campuses.
Yasemin Uyar Toprak
Biomedical Engineer, Medical Coordinator
Yasemin Uyar Toprak graduated from Biomedical Engineering department of Baskent University. She worked in different firms in health sector and hospital installation and commissioning for more than 10 years. She gained experience in consultancy by building bridge between health professionals and healthcare industry groups (medical equipment firms) and analyzing requirements of two parties. She works at NKY with her expertise in realization of service-sale activities of CT and MR imaging systems; planning, coordination and execution of repair / maintenance activities of devices; turnkey hospital projects carried out abroad; making list of required medical devices in accordance with the hospital plan; medical device inspections according to purchasing process and technical specifications; establishment of biomedical clinical engineering unit and formation of biomedical team; making list of medical device requirements/quantities/features etc. for all branches in the hospital and analyses of infrastructure needs; acceptance of purchased devices; establishment maintenance-repair process for fixed assets; clinical training and demonstration of anesthesia devices, ventilators, new-born HFO ventilators, radiant heater beds and bedside monitors; clinical training and making demo regarding to pentax endoscopy systems.
