Romanian Minister of Health, Dr. Alexandru Rafila and the mayor of Craiova, Lia Olguța Vasilescu, signed the contract for the Design and Technical Assistance Services of the Regional Hospital in Craiova on November 8th in a ceremony to which they invited the press. The Minister of Health says that he hopes that the tender for the construction of the hospital will start shortly after the design is completed, and that the hospital can be operational by the end of 2027.
The Regional Hospital in Craiova will be designed by NKY Architects & Engineers from Turkiye. The hospital would have 807 beds, 19 operating rooms, 7 floors and a heliport, and the value of the investment would amount to more than 500 million Euros, primarily funded by the European Investment Bank (EIB). The technical-economic indicators have been approved since November 2019, by the Dăncilă Government.
