Spanning approximately 60,000 square meters, the hospital comprises a comprehensive functional program, including emergency services, surgical units, intensive care wards, diagnostic and treatment zones, outpatient clinics, administrative blocks, and logistical support facilities. These elements are organized around a series of central courtyards, designed not only as spatial anchors but as cultural and climatic mediators.

Drawing inspiration from traditional Algerian courtyard architecture, these semi-open spaces serve as the spine of the hospital’s layout. Covered but naturally ventilated, the courtyards offer shaded respite, improve indoor air quality, and reduce the building’s mechanical energy demands — creating a passively optimized climate-responsive environment. These courtyards are more than transitional zones; they are therapeutic spaces where light, silence, and airflow coalesce into a tranquil, healing atmosphere.

The building’s façade features vertical fins and rhythmic openings that provide solar shading while articulating a modern visual identity. Administrative areas, the auditorium, and helipad facilities are carefully zoned with separate entrances to ensure a secure and efficient circulation network throughout the campus.
