THRUWAY- A modern, sustainable, and dynamic rest stop.

Project Information

OTOBAN /THRUWAY- A modern, sustainable, and dynamic rest stop.
Inspired by Nature
The project draws inspiration from the surrounding topography. Hills, slopes, and valleys shape the form of the building, establishing a strong visual and spatial connection with nature.
Functional Integrity
The facility brings together shops, cafés, restaurants, and wet areas. Shops showcase local products, while restaurants and cafés introduce the region’s gastronomy and offer visitors a unique experience. Thus, the building is not only a rest stop but also becomes a social and cultural hub.
Dynamic Form
The undulating roof stands out as the most striking element of the project. It echoes the natural curves of the landscape, integrates with the surroundings, and creates rich spatial experiences through diverse perspectives. This form gives the building a unique identity.
Material Language
Glass, steel, and concrete create a contemporary architectural expression. Glass façades bring daylight into the interiors and enhance transparency. The steel structure carries the roof and emphasizes dynamism, while concrete masses highlight solidity and permanence.
Sustainability
The project prioritizes energy efficiency and ecological awareness. Daylight and natural ventilation reduce energy consumption, while high-performance insulation materials and renewable energy solutions minimize environmental impact.
