Architectural Design
The structure of the design is based on the continuation of interior & exterior spaces and the management of private & public open spaces. The vertical formation of the buildings is planned on sections which would allow the units on the higher level to directly open to the street and/or the courtyards and the units on the lower level to again directly open to the gardens. Horizontal formation, on the other hand, relies on a single-line house arrangement, where private and public spaces are continuously interchanged. Façade and spatial qualities that vary in themselves through specific user behavior and diversity in orientation allows for an aesthetic expression which unifies different housing typologies. The design presents endless typologies due to the changing sizes of the units and the possibility to position each unit side by side or on top of each other. Consequently, the design aims at responding to multiple family customs that vary as per size and sociological background.
